John Micklethwait 1759-1838. Born at Ardsley House; of Birk House & Shepcote House, Ardsley, Yorkshire - a merchant in Leeds, baptised at Darfield 28 September 1759. He died unmarried and was buried in St. Mary's Church, Barnsley. Will proved November 1838. Had an illegitimate family with Harriet Wood.- His eldest son Thomas followed his father's example with Mary Ann Downing !
